What I am doing:
This post marks the beginning of a series that aims to highlight the “Elemental Priorities” of each Type, distinguishing them from their fellow club members (That’s a term I invented and I am not married to it, just needed a term). An Element represents a common attribute shared by two Aspects. For instance, Logic and Volition share the Expansive Element, while Physics and Emotion share the Emphatic Element. These contrasting poles are referred to as the Aspect Dichotomies.
The term “Priorities” refers to the arrangement of Positions within a Type: Confident > Flexible > Insecure > Unbothered. Each Type naturally prioritizes their Attitudes based on this sequence. It is important to note that such habitual prioritization can lead to difficulties, as explained on the official website’s Functions page.
We can assess the prioritization of Elements within a Type by assigning a value to each Position based on its priority, and then summing up the values for each Element across all Functions. In this system, the Confident Position is assigned a value of 3, Flexible 2, Insecure 1, and Unbothered 0.
Example – LVFE:
LV (Expansive) = 5 (L=3 + V=2 = 5)
LF (Temporal) = 4
LE (Communicative) = 3
VF (Visceral) = 3
VE (Spiritual) = 2
FE (Emphatic) = 1
Since club members share the same first and last priority Elements, they do not require separate coverage, but in this series I will also distinguish the members from each other in these areas. The middle two priorities are neutral and hold greater relevance when examining Sexta values, making them less applicable in this context, and I do not plan to examine them in this series. The main focus will be on the second and fifth priorities. The second priority pertains to the Growing Edge Function, which becomes a source of frustration for each Type and significantly influences their direction of attention and energy. The fifth priority corresponds to the Insight Function, which may be less ostensible but is still noteworthy.

The Adept Club
LVFE – VLFE – VLEF – LVEF
The Adept Types possess a strong sense of self-assurance when it comes to Volition and Logic. Their primary focus revolves around the interplay of these two aspects. Since Volition and Logic share the Expansive Element, Adepts tend to look beyond immediate contexts, eagerly anticipating the next frontier on the horizon. They exhibit interest in politics, technology, business, new theoretical models, futurology, and other cutting-edge subjects. In social contexts, they tend to downplay aesthetics, mood, and comforts due to their self-doubting aspects: Emotion and Physics.
To categorize the Club, we can divide it into quadrants along two axes: VL– vs. LV– and –FE vs. –EF.
The VL– Types (VLFE and VLEF) perceive Logic as a means of safeguarding their vision of the future, their power, and their destiny against rivals. They employ reason, systems, and data as tools to manifest their agenda into reality. These Types position themselves as experts and authorities, often emphasizing their prowess through negotiation and debate, in which they excel due to practice.
The LV– Types (LVFE and LVEF) view their Lifepath as an endeavor to create comprehensive yet elegant theories and models pertaining to decision-making and forecasting. What matters most to these Types is perfecting the system and its capacity to encompass a wide range of situations, rather than being constrained by a single perspective on unfolding events. They position themselves as planners, strategists, and advisors, tending to excel in these roles through continual practice.
The –FE Types (LVFE and VLFE) exhibit significant uncertainty regarding what makes an environment or object enjoyable, relaxing, or appealing. They struggle to identify with or fit into aesthetics, particularly those associated with leisure, luxury, or hedonism. As a result of this self-doubt and anxiety, these Types tend to maintain cleanliness and organization but lack proficiency in cultivating or engaging in an attractive atmosphere. They give off an impression of being neurotic about relaxation.
The –EF Types (VLEF and LVEF) harbor substantial self-doubt regarding how emotions animate individuals and how emotions manifest in the material realm. They come across as touchy and neurotic when people express themselves in a non-procedural manner, such as at parties or informal gatherings. They find it challenging to emotionally engage or express themselves aesthetically. Rather than experiencing emotions as they occur, they tend to intellectualize their own and others’ emotions.
Now we will move on to examination in light of the second and fifth Elemental Priorities.
LVFE

LVFEs prioritize the Temporal Element more than other Adept Types, which gives them a detail-oriented and technical inclination. In this Element, they come across as quite aggressive, obsessive, and protective. The LF block pertains to how Logic structures and organizes the physical world, so LVFEs consider precision, order, factual accuracy, and well-organized data as essential priorities, albeit often frustrating ones.
While LVFEs are highly receptive and open-minded regarding the Spiritual Element, they assign it less significance compared to other Adept Types. They appear to pay little attention to motivating or inspiring others (or themselves), which can make them seem somewhat naïve, secular, and dismissive of the power of charismatic influence, unlike their Adept counterparts.
The nickname “Conductor” suits LVFEs well, as they aspire to oversee finely-tuned and well-informed strategic operations, often with a focus on finance, industry, or science. A prominent motif for this type is the console positioned at the apex of a base of operations, symbolizing their desire to direct the plans of an orderly and data-rich environment.
VLFE

VLFEs prioritize the Visceral Element more than other Adept Types, making them appear more active, impactful, and conscious of resource control and power projection. In this Element, they come across as quite aggressive, obsessive, and protective. The VF block pertains to how Volition dominates the physical world, so VLFEs consider command, control, poise, might, and decisive action to be consistently frustrating yet highly important priorities.
Despite being relaxed and accepting towards the contributions of others when it comes to the Communication Element, VLFEs consider it a realm unworthy of too much attention. Compared to the other Adept Types, they downplay the importance of an idea being emotionally impactful and of techniques used to convey emotion.
The nickname “Pathfinder” suits VLFEs because they aim to utilize their cutting-edge expertise and strong negotiation skills to navigate around obstacles or overcome them forcefully, if necessary. “Pathfinder” conveys the power of will triumphing over the environment, particularly in a future-oriented or frontier-oriented (Expansive) context.

VLEFs prioritize the Spiritual Element to a greater extent than other Adept Types. As a result, they come across as more motivational and inclined towards seeking motivation. They show a greater interest in community leadership and are conscious of how people are influenced by spiritual beliefs and personal charisma. In this Element, they come across as quite aggressive, obsessive, and protective. The VE block focuses on how Volition motivates and influences emotions. Consequently, VLEFs consider motivation, teamwork, leadership, faith, and charisma to be frustrating yet highly important priorities.
Compared to the other Adept Types, VLEFs are the most open-minded and passive when it comes to the Temporal Element, involving factual details and logistical information, but they also consider this area a low priority. VLEFs can be unserious about getting the details right and they tend to want to leave thinking about material implementation to others.
The nickname given to VLEFs, the “Inquisitor,” is fitting for several reasons. Not only are they highly inquisitive, but they also exhibit a proactive approach in uncovering the ways people are being influenced by charisma and spirituality (or lack thereof), much like an inquisitor searching for heretics. VLEFs will behave like this regardless of whether they are “punching up” or “punching down.”

LVEFs prioritize the Communicative Element more than other Adept Types. They demonstrate a keen awareness of how ideas connect with people emotionally and how sentiments can be logically described. Unlike other Adept types, they possess a greater inclination to create comprehensive theories that bridge the realms of logic and human emotion, resulting in a harmonious understanding. In this Element, they come across as quite aggressive, obsessive, and protective. The LE Block focuses on how Logic enlightens and refines emotions. Therefore, LVEFs consider pedagogy, psychology, the humanities, and enlightenment as priorities that are both frustrating and crucial.
In contrast to the above, LVEFs are very passive about the Visceral Element, which involves exerting the will over the material world and also adapting our goals based on bodily needs. They will accept shows of strength from others and easily fall in line when resources are being distributed because these topics are not urgent matters to them, relative to the other Adept Types.
Although the nickname “Devisor” may not directly imply the Communicative Element, we can envision LVEFs meticulously devising intricate maps of meaning that effectively communicate ideas in a logical yet emotionally resonant manner. They understand that an idea must not only be true and useful but also evoke a sense of connection and resonance.
