I’m going to continue to riff on the parallels between Jungian Typology (JT) and Attitudinal Psyche/Psychosophy (AP/PY). This post won’t make much sense if you have not read the two preceding ones.
I am copying the table from Part II for reference:
AP Type | Ego Block | Super-Ego | Super-Id | Id |
FVLE | Si/Ne | Ti/Fe | Te/Fi | Se/Ni |
FLVE | Si/Te | Ni/Fe | Ne/Fi | Se/Ti |
EVLF | Fi/Ne | Ti/Se | Te/Si | Fe/Ni |
ELVF | Fi/Te | Ni/Se | Ne/Si | Fe/Ti |
LVFE | Ti/Ne | Si/Fe | Se/Fi | Te/Ni |
LFVE | Ti/Se | Ni/Fe | Ne/Fi | Te/Si |
EVFL | Fi/Ne | Si/Te | Se/Ti | Fe/Ni |
EFVL | Fi/Se | Ni/Te | Ne/Ti | Fe/Si |
VLFE | Ni/Te | Si/Fe | Se/Fi | Ne/Ti |
VFLE | Ni/Se | Ti/Fe | Te/Fi | Ne/Si |
ELFV | Fi/Te | Si/Ne | Se/Ni | Fe/Ti |
EFLV | Fi/Se | Ti/Ne | Te/Ni | Fe/Si |
VFEL | Ni/Se | Fi/Te | Fe/Ti | Ne/Si |
VEFL | Ni/Fe | Si/Te | Se/Ti | Ne/Fi |
LFEV | Ti/Se | Fi/Ne | Fe/Ni | Te/Si |
LEFV | Ti/Fe | Si/Ne | Se/Ni | Te/Fi |
VLEF | Ni/Te | Fi/Se | Fe/Si | Ne/Ti |
VELF | Ni/Fe | Ti/Se | Te/Si | Ne/Fi |
FLEV | Si/Te | Fi/Ne | Fe/Ni | Se/Ti |
FELV | Si/Fe | Ti/Ne | Te/Ni | Se/Fi |
LVEF | Ti/Ne | Fi/Se | Fe/Si | Te/Ni |
LEVF | Ti/Fe | Ni/Se | Ne/Si | Te/Fi |
FVEL | Si/Ne | Fi/Te | Fe/Ti | Se/Ni |
FEVL | Si/Fe | Ni/Te | Ne/Ti | Se/Fi |
Now let’s trim the table to only include those types that represent “1:1” parallels:
AP Type | Ego Block | Super-Ego | Super-Id | Id |
FLVE | Si/Te | Ni/Fe | Ne/Fi | Se/Ti |
EVLF | Fi/Ne | Ti/Se | Te/Si | Fe/Ni |
VLFE | Ni/Te | Si/Fe | Se/Fi | Ne/Ti |
EFLV | Fi/Se | Ti/Ne | Te/Ni | Fe/Si |
VEFL | Ni/Fe | Si/Te | Se/Ti | Ne/Fi |
LFEV | Ti/Se | Fi/Ne | Fe/Ni | Te/Si |
LVEF | Ti/Ne | Fi/Se | Fe/Si | Te/Ni |
FEVL | Si/Fe | Ni/Te | Ne/Ti | Se/Fi |
Dio and Pente have been removed completely because all of those types represent impossible combinations in JT. Half of the types in the remaining Sextas have also been trimmed.
We are left with eight types. Those eight types can parallel either the introverted or extraverted variant of the MBTI/Socionics types. For example, FLVE parallels both ESTJ/LSE and ISTJ/SLI.
AP Type | JT Introvert | JT Extravert |
FLVE – “Merchant” | ISTJ / SLI | ESTJ / LSE |
EVLF – “Catalyst” | INFP / EII | ENFP / IEE |
VLFE – “Pathfinder” | INTJ / ILI | ENTJ / LIE |
EFLV – “Satirist” | ISFP / ESI | ESFP / SEE |
VEFL – “Orchestrator” | INFJ / IEI | ENFJ / EIE |
LFEV – “Connoisseur” | ISTP / LSI | ESTP / SLE |
LVEF – “Devisor” | INTP / LII | ENTP / ILE |
FEVL – “Impressionist” | ISFJ / SEI | ESFJ / ESE |
I mean… are you seeing what I’m seeing? This sorta fits!… So long as you keep in mind my gazillion caveats about these parallels including but not limited to the following:
- The cognitive side of the Volition Aspect is somewhat “intuitive” in the Jungian sense
- I’ve untethered Volition from Se and pushed Se back to the original Jungian conception
- The Emotion Attitudes are akin to a minimalist or essentialist Jungian Feeling Function. The accumulated stereotypical baggage has been discarded
- I am not concerned with irrational/perceptive vs rational/judging types.
If the parallels I am drawing are correct, then it makes sense why, as an LVFE, I would continually float between INTJ and INTP in MBTI, and LII, ILE, and ILI in Socionics. The closest types to LVFE are the VLFE and LVEF, which correspond to those aforementioned JT types. I feel like many hours of unresolved pondering over the past decade have at last been concluded.
